The goal of this project is to develop guidance for regulatory staff to ensure the effectiveness of permit monitoring requirements including pre-, during, and post-construction evaluations of permitted coastal construction and mitigation project surveys and monitoring, including that of artificial reefs. Due to our specialized experience in regulatory project permit review and monitoring, Coastal Eco-Group was selected to assist the Principal Investigator, Dr. Alison Moulding, of Nova Southeastern University Oceanographic Center, with this important project funded by the Southeast Florida Coral Reef Initiative (SEFCRI). Coastal Eco-Group is responsible for leading the gathering of all permit-related biological monitoring documents for a desktop academic literature review and synthesis, assistance with conducting interviews with regulatory agency personnel, consultation on the content of the draft and final reports, assistance with incorporating public comments into the final report, and technical editing of the final report.
